Part B: Stratigraphic and Magmatic Setting of Mineral Occurrences
نویسندگان
چکیده
Magmatic and stratigraphic settings exert a first order control on the formation of various mineral deposit types. Some sating are rich in mineral wealth while others are barren. Stratigraphic setting is of particular importance where stratif&m or stratabound minerill deposits are concerned x orebodies are commonly restricted to specific stratigraphic intervals. For example. within the area bounded hy the Alsek and Tatshenshini Rivers, Upper Triassic rocks include a stratigraphic interval that is spectacularly endowed with massive &hide copper mineralization. On the other hand. no significant mineral occurrences have yet heen recognized in either the thick and extensive Paleozoic limestones or the widespread Jura-Cretaceous granodioritic bodies. Thus, an understanding of the stmigrnphic and magm;uic setting of mineral occurrences is the first step toward accurate delineation of mineral potential tracts, a primary objective of the Tatshenshini project, as outlined in Part A. Structural and def~rrmational events affecting the distribution of rocks formed within various slratigraphic and magmatic settings are discussed in Part C.

Gabbroic pluton of Bagham is located in southeastern Ardestan and has intruded into Eocene volacanic rocks. The study area is a part of Central Iranian zone and Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic belt. Clinopyroxene, plagioclase and amphibole are main minerals in the pluton. Mineral chemistry studies show that clinopyroxenes are augite and are plotted in almost medium pressure field. The clinopyroxene co...

The Nokeh intrusion exposed in the northern Semnan area. The intrusion is composed of monzonite-quartz monzonite and granite-granodiorite and was intruded in the Eocene carbonaceous tuffs, where the country rocks converted to magnetite-skarn. Plagioclase, orthoclase, quartz, biotite, amphibole and clinopyroxene are the constituent minerals of Nokeh intrusion. The study rocks represent granular,...

Neogene high silica adakitic domes of south Quchan, cropped out in the northern part of the Quchan-Esfarayen Cenozoic magmatic arc (north of Sabzevar ophiolitic and metamorphic belt). In this volcanic belt, magmatic activities has been started since Eocene (about 40 Ma ago) and continued to Plio-Pleistocene (about 2 Ma ago). The ages of volcanic rocks range from Eocene to Plio-Pleistocene from ...

This area is located in Derenjal Mountains, 60Km northwest of Tabas in central Iranian structural zone. The igneous rocks occur as plutonic with composition of olivine-gabbro, gabbro, diorite and monzodiorite in Kalshaneh Formation with Middle Cambrian age and as the extrusive rocks with composition of olivine basaltic lavas in lower part of Niur Formation with Silurian age. Petrographical and ...
متن کاملApplication of Spectral Analysis in Mapping Hydrothermal Alteration of the Northwestern Part of the Kerman Cenozoic Magmatic Arc, Iran
The northwestern part of the Kerman Cenozoic magmatic arc (KCMA) contains many areas with porphyry copper mineralization. In this research, we used the advanced space-borne thermal emission and reflection radiometer (ASTER) and Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus (ETM+) images of this region to map the distribution of hydrothermally altered rocks, based on their mineral assemblages. The spectral meas...
